Bio:
Laura is a Political Science PhD student at UCSB, focused on the political economy of conflict and its influence on the green energy transition in Latin America. She applies experimental and quasi-experimental methods to explore how conflict affects renewable energy policies across the region. Before UCSB, Laura served as a research assistant at New York University in Abu Dhabi and Universidad del Rosario. She also has experience in the energy sector, specifically nuclear energy in the United Arab Emirates, and has conducted research on the impacts of public policies and armed conflict in Colombia.
