Bio:
Alfredo González is an Assistant Professor of Political Science. His research explores how the development of U.S. immigrant military service renegotiated the parameters of political acculturation and the requirements for legal citizenship. His book manuscript, Developing to Deport: U.S. Military Naturalization Policy Since WWI, traces the expansion and gradual deterioration of an expedited pathway to legal citizenship, and the impact military naturalization policy neglect predominantly has on Latina/o immigrant service members. González served in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
