Congratulations to Karen Pitakdumrongkit

Dr. Karen Pitakdumrongkit, who finished her PhD under the guidance of Prof. Benjamin Cohen in January, has just been appointed a "research fellow" at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her appointment, which includes teaching responsibilities, will begin on December 3rd.

In Memoriam: Anton Vonk, MA '05

The Political Science Department’s generous alumnus, friend, and donor, Anton Vonk, passed away in early January following a heart attack. We will remember Anton Vonk gratefully for years to come by virtue of his generous gift, together with his wife, Diane Boss, of the Vonk Chair in Environmental Politics, for which recruitment is currently in progress. We will honor his vision and generosity in the future on many occasions.

Job Opening in International Relations

The University of California, Santa Barbara Department of Political Science seeks a scholar in international relations for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor effective July 1, 2014. Applicants should have completed the Ph.D. by the appointment date. Applicant may specialize in any aspect of international relations, but the Department is particularly interested in a scholar whose research engages issues at the boundaries of the traditional subfields of international relations and comparative politics.
