Professor Lien Receives Taiwan Fellowship

New Faculty Member in International Relations

The Department of Political Science is pleased to announce the appointment of Bridget L. Coggins as Assistant Professor.  Receiving her Ph.D. from Ohio State University, Dr. Coggins specializes in International Relations and will be an excellent addition to the department.  Her scholarly work examines the topics of international order and security at the intersection of comparative and international politics. She was Assistant Professor at Dartmouth College and went on to become an International Affairs Fellow at the Council of Foreign Relations.  Dr.

Congratulations Lauren Copeland

The journal Political Studies has accepted Lauren's manuscript entitled "Conceptualizing Political Consumerism: How Citizenship Norms Shape Boycotting and Buycotting." In this article, which is based on a dissertation chapter, Lauren analyzes boycotting and buycotting as political participation. Previous scholarship has treated these actions as variations on the same behavior, but in this article Lauren shows they are driven by different citizenship norms and should be treated in many cases as two kinds of political action.
