Leah Stokes Receives Water Conservation Research Grant

The California Institute for Water Resources has awarded a grant to Professor Leah Stokes for a study of water policy and conservation in response to the drought in California.  Her project will compare conservation levels across water districts and how factors, such as conservation policies and penalty pricing, income, and drought severity are related to conservation outcomes.

Leah Stokes studies public policy, public opinion and political behavior in North America, with a focus on energy and environmental politics. She is currently working on a book project that looks and explain and retrenchment of renewable energy laws across US states. In addition, Leah has ongoing research on public opinion on energy, changes in voter turnout after internet voting reforms, and protests against wind energy projects.
