Political Science Grad Students Awarded Fellowships

The UCSB Graduate Division recently awarded three political science graduate students special fellowships and research grants.

Katie Ostrander Swain received a Graduate Division Dissertation Fellowship for her dissertation entitled: "Local Places Open Spaces: Creating Substantive Citizenship in the Presence of Race Neutrality."

Kathleen Cole and Jeanette Yih Harvie each received a Graduate Division Humanities and Social Sciences Research grant for their research projects.

The competition for the 2012 continuing central fellowships was very keen this year, so these awards are especially noteworthy.
