Foreign Policy Magazine's issue for January 3, 2012 included its annual list of best graduate programs in various categories. Among the Best International Relations Masters Programs (subtitled: "The top 10 programs for those looking to run the world"), the editors chose as no. 9: The London School of Economics and Political Science.

Foreign Policy also identified three LSE faculty as "star professors." The list includes Jeffrey Chwieroth, Reader in the Department of International Relations at LSE and Director of the Master's Programme in International Political Economy. Dr. Chwieroth received his Ph.D. in Political Science from UCSB in 2003.
