Tabitha Benney Accepts Position
Our hearty congratulations to Tabitha Benney, a PhD candidate who joined the program in Fall 2007, for securing a tenure-track position in International Relations from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her advisor is Prof. Benjamin Cohen and her dissertation is on international political economy and enviornmental politics and policy. Her appointment will begin on July 1, 2013.

It’s been 15 years since the Professor Larry Adams Scholarship Award was established. Since that time, 32 students have become Adams Scholars and served in public service internships in the Santa Barbara community.
The Adams Award was created to recognize and honor former UCSB lecturer and Professor Larry Adams. His strong commitment to public service and political involvement inspired a generation of UCSB students.

The APSA Centennial Center for Political Science and Public Affairs assists APSA scholars in their research and field work. Graduate student Anne Pluta was one of two in-residence scholars at the Center in Fall 2011 whose work was recently summarized in APSA's journal PS: Political Science and Politics.
While at the Center, she presented her dissertation research to the Centennial Center Staff, APSA's Congressional Fellows, and an invited audience from various institutions in the WAshington DC area.

The Department of Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications and nominations for a tenured appointment to fill the recently-endowed Anton Vonk Chair in Environmental Politics. This Chair is intended to focus on the politics of the environment, energy, or natural resources. The position is open with respect to field. We welcome applicants from American politics, comparative politics, international politics, and political theory.
Candidates should be distinguished scholars, whose work focuses especially on the politics of the environment.
