Heather Stoll is Assistant Professor of Political Science at UCSB.  Her lecture will be based on her forthcoming book, Changing Societies, Changing Party Systems (Cambridge University Press).  This talk explores the factors shaping the success of ethnic sectarian parties, arguing that political institutions and other factors besides the electoral system have key roles to play.
